Privacy Policy for My PhotoBook

Last updated: August 15, 2026

My PhotoBook is a photo album and printable photobook app provided by AlexVovan Studio. The app is designed to create and manage albums locally on the user's device.

Data the app accesses and uses

My PhotoBook may access and use:

  • photos explicitly selected by the user from the device photo library;
  • imported copies of selected photos;
  • photo captions, album titles, subtitles, descriptions, cover text, colors, crop settings, photo order, print order, and other album-layout settings;
  • hardcover settings entered by the user, such as spine width, the optional 3 mm print-bleed setting, and optional notes or endpaper choices;
  • optional photo metadata, such as the photo date and embedded GPS coordinates, when the user creates a Smart Album or uses a feature that depends on photo metadata;
  • generated regular, booklet, and hardcover PDF files.

This data is used to create, edit, display, print, preview, and export the user's photobooks and to provide optional Smart Album date and place-name features.

Local storage and generated files

Album data is stored locally in the app's private storage. Imported photo copies are stored in the app's private files directory. The app does not require an account and does not synchronize albums with a developer-operated server.

Generated PDF files are created locally. Hardcover PDFs can be generated either at final trim size or with an optional 3 mm bleed on every outer edge. Regular PDFs, booklet PDFs, hardcover interior PDFs, hardcover cover files, and temporary iOS sharing copies may be stored in the app's cache. Cached files may remain until the operating system clears the cache, the app replaces or removes them, the user clears the app's storage, or the app is uninstalled.

Android Backup is disabled for the app, so the app's private album data and imported photo copies are not included in Android automatic app-data backup.

Photos, metadata, and place names

The app uses the system photo picker so the user can choose photos. In Smart Album mode on Android, the app may also request broader photo-library access. This is used to match a selected picker file with its original library item and recover its date or embedded GPS metadata when the system picker does not provide that metadata. File matching and metadata extraction are performed locally on the device.

On Android, the app may request media-location metadata access to read GPS coordinates already embedded in selected photos. The app does not request GPS coordinates from the device's current position.

To convert embedded photo coordinates into readable place names, My PhotoBook uses the operating system's reverse-geocoding service. Depending on the device and platform, the coordinates and standard network information may be processed by the operating-system or geocoding provider, and a network connection may be required. These coordinates are not sent to a developer-operated My PhotoBook server.

On Android, the operating system may require foreground location permission before its geocoder can be used. Before that system prompt, the app displays an explanation that the permission is used only to name places from coordinates already embedded in selected photos. The app does not use background location and does not continuously track the user's current location.

Sharing and export

The app passes a generated PDF to the device's system preview, open, or sharing interface only after the user explicitly requests that action. The user chooses the destination app or service. After a file is sent, saved, or shared outside My PhotoBook, that external copy is controlled by the selected app, service, storage location, or recipient and cannot be deleted by My PhotoBook.

Network access and third parties

My PhotoBook does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs. The developer does not collect, sell, or use user photos or album content for advertising, profiling, or tracking through a developer-operated backend.

Third parties may process limited data in these user-initiated or platform-dependent situations:

  • the operating system or its geocoding provider may process embedded photo coordinates to return a place name;
  • a user-selected app or service may process a PDF that the user chooses to open, save, print, or share;
  • when the user opens the privacy policy from Settings, the app checks and opens the public policy website. The website hosting provider may receive standard web-request information such as IP address, request time, and browser or device headers. My PhotoBook does not use this request for advertising or user profiling.

The privacy and retention practices of operating-system services, website hosts, and user-selected destination apps are governed by their own policies.

Retention and deletion

Album records and imported photo copies remain in the app's private storage until the user deletes the relevant album, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the app. Generated files in the app cache are temporary and may be removed by the operating system or by clearing the app's cache or storage.

Deleting an album removes its locally stored album record and imported photo copies from My PhotoBook. Because the app has no user account or developer-operated album server, the developer normally has no remote copy of the user's albums to delete. Files previously exported or shared outside the app must be deleted from their destination by the user.
